Cable Assemblies First to Achieve Full VESA DisplayPort Certification

Tyco Electronics announced today that it has achieved full certification on its cable assemblies as defined in DisplayPort Specification Version 1.1a. HARRISBURG, Pa. - Feb. 25, 2008 - Tyco Electronics announced a new enhanced version of its popular MULTI-BEAM XL power distribution connector system. The MULTI-BEAM XLE product delivers over 20% more current than standard MULTI-BEAM XL power distribution connectors and offers more than two times the durability rating of competing products. The new connector will carry up to 43 Amps per contact as compared to the 35 Amp rating for the MULTI-BEAM XL product. The new contact has been designed into the right angle and vertical pcb plugs, as well as the cable mount plugs. In addition, the new connector offers a "low power" contact, which occupies 50% less space than the traditional contacts.
