Introducing Durable, UV-Resistant Labels For Solar Panels

HARRISBURG, Pa. - February 1, 2008 - A new series of preprinted labels from Tyco Electronics offer a durable construction for use in the harsh environments of solar applications. The labels use a UV-resistant ink that will not fade. Acrylic-based adhesive-backed base materials allow a durable permanent connection, while lamination adds additional protection against UV radiation, rain, humidity, temperature and salt spray. The labels resist fading, cracking or adhesive breakdown for over 10 years.

Recommended for identifying DC disconnects and inverters per the National Electric Code, the labels are preprinted and are available in four formats with common warnings required in photovoltaic applications. Labels can be applied at the factory or in the field to painted surfaces that are smooth or textured. UL approval is pending on the RoHS-compliant labels.

New Compact Power Line Filters RK Series

Harrisburg, PA, January 29, 2008â€”Tyco Electronics has introduced the new RK series of power line filters. These compact, chassis-mount filters use single-stage filtering to achieve the high differential mode performance required in industrial machinery in noisy environments. Low leakage current of only 0.16 mA at 120 VAC/60 Hz also makes the filter well suited for portable equipment.

Available with current ratings of 10, 15, and 20 A, the filters are rated for voltages up to 250 VAC. Designed for global applications, they are UL Recognized, CSA Certified and VDE Approved.

Targeted applications include high-noise industrial environments, portable equipment, HVAC equipment, switched mode power supplies and vending equipment such as ATMs, cafÃ© vending, and kiosks.
