A New Breed of High-Performance Interconnects

The demand for increased current density with modular power solutions has been met by a new breed of power interconnects from Tyco Electronics. The new designs make better use of available airflow and provide improvements in long-term reliability. Specific challenges related to energized mate and un-mate cycles and exposure to corrosion enhancing environments while maintaining low milli-volt drops are addressed with new contact designs and material selections. While de-facto standard solutions fall short of meeting future needs, Tyco Electronics offers upgraded power connectors that meet the needs of many applications in the computer, telecommunications and industrial power distribution markets.

New Series of Filtered and Unfiltered Power Entry Modules Launched for Rack Mount Equipment

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Jan. 21, 2010 --Tyco Electronics has added the CU series to its family of Corcom power entry modules. The new series includes smaller-sized versions of switched filtered and unfiltered power inlets, which are ideal for applications with panel space constraints, in particular systems designed for the popular 1U (1 3/4 inch) height equipment racks.

Tyco Electronics Expands Line of Power-Entry Modules

Tyco Electronics has announced the addition of a 10-amp version of its Corcom GG series general-purpose and HG series medical filtered power-entry modules. A 5-inch (127 mm) wire lead option has also been introduced for the HG medical modules to aid in module installation. Previously, the lines were offered in ratings of 1, 3, and 6 amps.
