Focus
The Tyco Electronics Foundation provides grants to U.S. organizations that qualify as nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The grants are awarded in geographic areas where Tyco Electronics has a significant employee population and for projects that are consistent with corporate objectives. Requests should be for specific projects or programs in the following categories.
Education
The Foundation makes direct grants for programs that address a business or community concern of Tyco Electronics. Organizations that support pre-college math and science education receive special attention. The Foundation will not provide funds for administrative or overhead expenses related to Foundation-funded research.
Community Impact
Local United Way chapters benefit from donations that have a correlation to the level of employee giving. In addition, the Foundation gives to organizations where employees demonstrate a commitment by volunteering their time.
Application Guidelines
The Tyco Electronics Foundation accepts applications throughout the year and makes funding decisions on a quarterly basis. Requests will be considered in the following quarter if received by December 15, March 15, June 15 or September 15. Requests receive preferential review if the organization is one that Tyco Electronics employees support as volunteers. Requests from organizations within the Tyco Electronics Foundation's focus will be considered unless the following apply.
