David Coughlan serves as President of Tyco Telecommunications at Tyco Electronics, one of the world’s largest providers of engineered electronic components, network solutions, undersea telecommunication systems and wireless systems. With fiscal 2007 sales of US$13.0 billion, Tyco Electronics has approximately 92,000 employees in approximately 50 countries.
Mr. Coughlan has overall responsibility for all aspects of Tyco Telecommunications including: sales and marketing, research and development, product management and operations. Tyco Telecommunications is the only U.S.-based vertically integrated designer, manufacturer, installer and maintenance provider of undersea fiber optic systems. He joined Tyco Electronics in November 2001 as Senior Vice President, Business Development, focusing on acquisitions, divestitures and business integration. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Coughlan led Tyco Electronics’ Wireless Business segment. Before joining Tyco Electronics, Mr. Coughlan was Director of Business Development for Tyco International Ltd. where he was responsible for strategic assessment of IPOs and acquisitions. Mr. Coughlan joined the Finance Department of Tyco International Ltd. in 1995 where he coordinated various operational accounting issues. For five years prior to joining Tyco International, Mr. Coughlan created and managed an import wholesale/retail business based in China. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, U.S. and a Master of Business Administration from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, New Hampshire, U.S. About Tyco Electronics |
