Minoru (Mooch) Okamoto serves as President of the Communications, Computer & Consumer Electronics (CC&CE) business unit of Tyco Electronics, one of the world’s largest providers of engineered electronic components, network solutions, undersea telecommunication systems and wireless systems. With fiscal 2007 sales of US$13.0 billion, Tyco Electronics has approximately 92,000 employees in approximately 50 countries.
CC&CE is part of Tyco Electronics’ Electronic Components segment and is one of the world’s largest suppliers of components and value-added assemblies for the communications, computer, and consumer electronics industries. Mr. Okamoto is also responsible for Global Fiber Optics, Power Components and Elo TouchSystems businesses. Mr. Okamoto is responsible for all aspects of sales, development and operations for these businesses worldwide. With 31 years of Tyco Electronics and prior AMP experience, Mr. Okamoto has held a wide variety of positions in sales, marketing, operations and general management. These include Vice President of Asia and Global Computer & Consumer Electronics, Divisional Vice President and Area Director of Asia/Pacific North (Japan & Korea), General Manager of AMP Japan, Director of Asia/Pacific Marketing and General Manager of AMP Taiwan. Mr. Okamoto is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce, Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), JEITA (Japan Electronics & Information Technology Industries Association) in Japan, and a Director of the Board, iNEMI (International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative, Inc.) in the U.S. Mr. Okamoto holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University, California, U.S. About Tyco Electronics |
