Rick Perko is Vice President, Technology for Tyco Electronics, one of the world’s largest providers of engineered electronic components, network solutions, wireless systems and undersea telecommunication systems. With fiscal 2007 sales of US$13.0 billion, Tyco Electronics has approximately 92,000 employees in approximately 50 countries.
As Vice President, Technology, Mr. Perko is directly responsible for the R&D Laboratories in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, U.S. and Menlo Park, California, U.S., as well as the Plating Systems group in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, U.S. In addition to his research activities, he also advises on technical strategy and chairs the Engineering Council, a group of Tyco Electronics engineering leaders. Prior to his current position, Mr. Perko worked for over 20 years at M/A-COM, where he served in several roles involving development of new technologies and management of the associated product lines. He also was a Distinguished Fellow of Technology at M/A-COM, responsible for integration technologies in the R&D group. Before M/A-COM, Mr. Perko worked as a microwave amplifier design engineer at Varian Associates and Watkins Johnson Company. Mr. Perko earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, Colorado, U.S. He holds eight patents from the U.S. Patent Office. About Tyco Electronics |
