Tyco Electronics has introduced the Ultra-Pod fully insulated FASTON receptacle. This new product accepts .250 quick connect tabs and is available in straight or flag (90 degree) arrangements. The new design allows for two-wire termination, or wire "doubling", in a single receptacle. Both the straight and flag arrangement are suitable for lead-maker termination, allowing for high speed processing. Upon processing, Ultra-Pod fully insulated FASTON receptacles are terminated and insulated in a single step, further enhancing throughput cycle time. Typical applications for Ultra-Pod fully insulated FASTON receptacles include household appliances, HVAC equipment, commercial and business equipment, lighting, lawn and garden equipment and power supplies.
The insulator is available in UL 94 V-0 or V-2 nylon and the terminal is brass or tin plated brass. The product complies with electrical and mechanical standards for quick connect electrical terminals as set forth by UL and CSA.
F-Crimp style wire and insulation crimp terminations provide excellent electrical performance and strain relief. Furthermore, crimp quality can be monitored and tracked.
This product is RoHS compatible and can be terminated using existing Tyco Electronics applicators and machinery.
