The AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) connector system is a system of contacts and housings designed for electrical and electronic wire-to-wire and wire-to-board for automotive and commercial vehicle applications.

The AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) connector system is a system of contacts and housings designed for electrical and electronic wire-to-wire and wire-to-board applications.  AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) contacts feature a reliable interface suitable for long-term use in high vibration, high current and high ambient temperature automotive and commercial vehicle applications.

The AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) product family includes a large variety of housing configurations ranging from 2 to 62 positions for wire-to-wire and wire-to-board and sealed and unsealed applications. Smaller housings have integral latches and larger housings incorporate lever locks to assist with the inherent higher mating forces. Strain reliefs are available for many of the position sizes and keying is available for all housings.

The heart of the AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) connector system is the contacts. The contacts consist of a male flat blade and female box style receptacle and provide a reliable interface suitable for long term use in high vibration areas. AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) contact types are available in the following sizes:

  • AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) 1.5K:
    • Mating tab 1.5 x 0.6 / 0.8mm
    • Current up to 20 Amps (free in air)
    • Wire Range 0.2 - 1.5mm2 (24-16AWG)
    • Base Material Copper Nickel Silicon
    • Plating - Tin, Select Silver or Select Gold
    • Sealed and unsealed versions
  • AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) 2.8 / 2.8K:
    • Mating tab 2.8mm x 0.8mm
    • Two contact beams - 4 points of contact
    • Current up to 45 Amps (free in air)
    • Wire Range 0.2 - 4.0mm2 (24-11AWG)
    • Plating - Tin, Select Silver or Select Gold
    • Sealed and unsealed applications
  • AMP MCP (Multiple Contact Point) 6.3/4.8K:
    • Mating tab 5.8mm x 0.8mm
    • Four contact beams - 8 points of contact
    • Current up to 20 Amps (free in air)
    • Wire Range 0.12 - 2.5mm2 (26-14AWG)
    • Base Material - Copper Tin, Copper Zinc 30
    • Unsealed applications only
