BENSHEIM, Germany -- July 26, 2009 -- Tyco Electronics extends the high-frequency segment of the AXICOM relay product line with the HF3S relay designed for frequencies up to 3 GHz and capable of carrying RF power up to 150 W. This new model is suitable for SMD soldering processes and provides significant advantages in high-frequency switching circuits.

The coplanar design allows optimum signal coupling from the circuit board to the relay and back again to the circuit board. Thanks to low insertion loss, internal heating of the contacts is very low even at high power levels. Sealed construction and high dielectric properties permit proper operation in severe environments and climatic conditions.

HF relays are particularly suitable both for infrequent operation as well as for continuous switching such as test equipment. The HF product line has been developed in compliance with RoHS and other environmental requirements, and it is halogen-free.
