M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics and a leading provider of wireless radio frequency (RF), microwave and millimeter wave components, today announced a new MATM-090007-SA00XX 1W S-band telemetry transmitter at this year's annual International Telemetering Conference (ITC) in Las Vegas, NV. This programmable lower S-band FM telemetry transmitter is ideally suited for rugged, space limited applications including smart munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and other harsh environment commercial and industrial testing applications.

The MATM-090007-SA00XX telemetry transmitter is fully customizable in functionality and form factor for each end-user application. The unit is 31.8 x 41.4 x 5.1mm in size and available in other form factors including a 48mm diameter unit. It utilizes a single +5.0V regulated supply voltage with reverse bias and over-voltage protection. Additionally, the design of this telemetry transmitter is capable of achieving a data range of 500Kbps to 20Mbps, and has an average DC to RF efficiency of 33 percent.
