Due to the growing demand for comfort and higher packaging standards in motor vehicles, Tyco Electronics has developed a new generation of automotive power relays. The innovative PK2 Relay (Power K2 Relay) is specifically designed for printed circuit board (PCB) mounting.

The unique design of the Tyco Electronics PK2 Power Relay has resulted in a economical, monostable and open contact relay (form A). The PK2 is setting a new standard for reliability in various cross carline, high performance applications, e.g. loads for motors and resistors. The PK2 power relay offers the highest reliability due to Tyco Electronics state-of-the-art technologies and production processes and additional product optimizations (eg.double load terminals).

The bistable version is characterized by a small coil energy dissipation, in which higher loads and respectively higher ambient temperatures can be achieved. The bistable version is suitable for energy management, e.g. dormant current applications.

The monostable PK2 switches up to 200 A and is capable of carrying a continuous current of up to 40 A (RT). The bistable version has a continuous carrying current capability of more than 50 A (RT).
