Tyco Electronics' clutch master cylinder travel sensor uses contact-less technology for clutch position detection. No mechanical wear makes this sensor technology ideal for high-reliability applications.
Product Features
- Based on Tyco Electronics' PLCD technology (Permanent magnetic-Linear-Contactless-Displacement)
- Permanent magnet, located at the piston rod, serves as the target object, the position of which is be detected through the hydraulic cylinder wall
- Position information transmitted as an analog ratiometric signal
- Accurate measurement in demanding automotive applications
- Mechanical wear is completely avoided

To take full advantage of the electric park brake system, the drivers intent needs to be accurately and reliably measured. This is generally accomplished through sensors locating the position of the clutch. Tyco Electronics, in cooperation with major hydraulic cylinder suppliers, has developed a contact-less travel sensor for the detection of the clutch position at the clutch master cylinder.
