Audio/Video Connectors Designed to the DisplayPortI™ Standard Overview


Tyco Electronics offers a variety of audio/video connectors, cable assemblies, and adapters designed to meet the VESA™ DisplayPort audio/video interconnect specification for both high and low bit rate cables. These new products enable high definition media content on computers and audio visual components.

Tyco Electronics cable assemblies have achieved full certification as defined in DisplayPort Specification Version 1.1a, by passing a thorough battery of tests performed by an independent VESA authorized test center.

These certified cable assemblies are based on consistent transmission of digital data through 1, 2, or 4 main link lanes at the reduced bit rate of 1.62 Gbps per lane or high bit rate of 2.7 Gbps per lane. This yields excellent HD quality video for both computer and consumer applications.

    Tyco Electronics offers surface mount (SMT) audio/video receptacles designed to meet the DisplayPort standard for both high and low bit rate cables. These new products enable high definition media content on computers and flat panels.



    Audio/Video Cable Assemblies Certified to DisplayPort StandardFind in Catalog
    The Tyco Electronics audio/video cable assemblies have achieved full certification as defined in DisplayPort Specification Version 1.1a. Cable assemblies are available in two-meter lengths, as well as 10 and 15 meter lengths for longer applications. Other custom lengths are available upon request. “Direct Drive” monitor cable assemblies are also available for use in direct interconnect of DisplayPort equipped computer monitors were required.



    Audio/Video Cable Adapters Designed to the DisplayPort™ StandardFind in Catalog
    To ensure interoperability with existing display interconnects, Tyco Electronics also manufacturers audio/video adapters designed to meet the DisplayPort standard. These products are designed to assist those users requiring backward compatibility. Tyco Electronics will offer the following configurations: DisplayPort to DVI standard, DisplayPort to HDMI standard, and DisplayPort to VGA standard.
