Tyco Electronics’ GPS module A1080-A offers outstanding performance for sensitivity, start up behavior and power consumption. Just plug the EVA1080A into your PC using the USB cable and you will be prompted to the proper drivers included in the attached CD. After installing the drivers you only have to plug in the attached antenna and you can immediately see the GPS information running on your PC by using a simple terminal program or Tyco Electronics’ GPS Cockpit software.

It was never easier to get a GPS demonstration unit connected to your PC. The USB1029 DemoKit holds a USB controller that allows for a fast set-up. Just connect the GPS demonstration board to your PC using the USB cable (which additionally supplies power to the board) and you will be promoted for the proper drivers, which you will find on the included CD. A serial port is automatically assigned to the board. Now all that is left to do is to place the antenna where it can see the sky and you will be able to monitor the GPS information on your PC either with a simple terminal program or using Tyco Electronics' GPS Cockpit which is included in the CD as well or is freely available on this webpage.

You want to take a closer look at the A1029-A? Or you need to know what's the best way to provide power to your antenna, or to backup the A1029-A properly? This and more is realized on the EVA1029 Evaluation Kit. Beyond that the kit allows you to test different configurations and verify their behavior within your application, even accessing the module's I/O pins. Simply supply power and set up the antenna in a proper way. When the board is now connected to a PC using the enclosed serial cable, GPS strings will be displayed in a monitor program of your choice or in Tyco Electronics' GPS Cockpit which you can find on our CD or is freely available on this webpage.

If you want to experience the advantages of the A1029-B, then the DKS1029B is the right choice. The board gives you a feeling of how easy it is to start with the A1029-B GPS module. The module shows its advantages especially when RF design should be avoided and time-to market is critical. The demonstration kit with the RS232 serial interfaces allows a very fast evaluation of the A1029-B, just by applying power and connecting the antenna using the standard SMA connector on the link cable. The NMEA sentences can be read, interpreted and analyzed with Tyco Electronics' GPS Cockpit software that is freely available on this page.
