Tyco Active LAN Products - Limited Lifetime Warranty
Tyco Electronics warrants its LAN Products to be free from defects in material and workmanship and meet the prescribed mechanical and transmission specifications in effect for the Product, under normal use and operation for the lifetime of the product from the date of purchase from Tyco Electronics or an authorised vendor, subject to the conditions and exclusions below:-
- Tyco Electronics internal and external power supply units and cooling fans, where fitted, are covered for two-years from date of purchase from Tyco Electronics or an authorised vendor. All other parts are warranted for the lifetime of the product. (Proof of Purchase date will be required by Tyco Electronics if the unit is more than 2 years old)
- This warranty does not cover any damage to the products that resulted from accident, abuse, misuse, natural or personal disaster, or any unauthorised disassembly or modification, or operation in a manner contrary to the instructions, or shipment of the product to Tyco Electronics
- The products are not designed, manufactured or intended for use in hazardous or critical environments or in activities requiring emergency or fail-safe operation or in any other activity or application in which failure of the product may pose the risk of physical injury or death or environmental harm. Tyco Electronics specifically disclaims any express or implied warranty of fitness for any dangerous application.
Except for the foregoing express limited warranty, Tyco makes no other warranty, statutory, express or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Tyco Electronics be liable for incidental, exemplary, consequential damages, including, but not limited to, damages for lost data, time profits, revenues or the like arising from the loss of use or interruption of a system.
Repair and Replacement
Tyco Electronics will at its option, replace, repair, or credit
a product that proves faulty due to defective materials or
workmanship. If the product is reported as defective within 90
days of purchase, then the reported faulty product will be
exchanged for a new product. After 90 days from purchase, Tyco
at their discretion will provide a new, refurbished or
functionally equivalent replacement product on an exchange basis
or will provide a credit. All
returned products that are replaced become the property of Tyco.
Any replaced product or part is warranted only for the remainder
of the original product warranty period.
Repair and Return Method
Requests
for return of product shall be directed to the local Tyco
Electronics sales office or Authorised vendor from where the
unit was purchased. The
Tyco Electronics sales office shall then request a Returns
Materials Authorisation (RMA) from the support centre using the
appropriate Tyco system.
Note that all LAN Electronics products returned to Tyco Electronics for repair or replacement must be delivered marked with the allocated RMA number. Unmarked boxes will be returned unopened to the customer, at their cost. The shipping boxes should be of similar quality to the original Tyco shipping package. This shipment should be traceable and insured. Authorized RMA numbers will expire 45 days after they are issued. Only the Tyco Electronics product and quantity specified on the original RMA request can be returned with the RMA number issued. If returning additional products to Tyco Electronics a new RMA Number will be required.
